Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is located at 1986 Stoverstown Road. The Department is comprised of four full-time employees and a part-time Road Master. The Department is responsible for road construction and maintenance, storm sewer and drainage work, winter snow and ice removal, installation of traffic and street signs, and maintenance of the Township's park system. The Road Master is also in charge of building maintenance. The Department is responsible for over sixty miles of road system and is under contract with PennDOT for winter maintenance (to plow snow on the following state roads: Stoverstown Road between Lehman Road and Jefferson Road, Tunnel Hill Road between Messersmith Road and Days Mill Road, Arnold Road between Messersmith Road and Days Mill Road), for a total of approximately eight (8) miles.

The Road Master is responsible for scheduling the road department on projects and work activities necessary to carrying out road department activities. It is the Road Master's responsibility to oversee the maintenance of all equipment and the need for additional equipment. He investigates and corrects complaints. He also makes applications for grant such as the Dirt and Gravel Projects through the York County Conservation District.
